Why Play Rep?
Representative Basketball provides an opportunity for junior players from our domestic competition to develop and improve their basketball skills, as well as compete at a higher standard of competition. Rep players compete in tournaments throughout the season against regional and metropolitan associations, culminating in participation in the Victorian Country Starte Championships. It also provides a pathway to other State and National Basketball opportunities.
Whats Involved in Playing Rep?
Players are required to play in both YMBA domestic seasons to qualify. Players commit to weekly training and attending 7-8 tournaments per season, including the Victorian State Championships, which concludes the season.
It is a commitment by parents, players, team managers and coaches in time and travel.
Selection tryouts to get into the Rep Program take place around July, at the start of each rep season.

Playing Rep gives all athletes the opportunity to receive additional training under their rep coach to further develop their skills at a higher level. The training commitment is 1-2 times per week and commences in August.
